Iris Drive Privacy Policy

Iris Drive is a private file sync app for devices you control. It uses hashtree for content-addressed storage and Nostr for identity, discovery, and device/share invites.

Data Used to Operate Iris Drive

Iris Drive processes the following data on your devices and transmits the parts needed to provide the sync, linking, sharing, and backup features you choose:

• your Nostr public key, device public key, device label, and roster;
• invite links, join requests, authorization state, and relay choices;
• user-selected file content, file metadata, content hashes, and roots;
• local app settings, diagnostics, and health information shown in the app.

Iris Drive uses user content and app-generated identifiers only for app functionality. Sirius Business Oy does not use your files, file metadata, device identifiers, or usage data for advertising, analytics, profiling, or sale.

Storage and Keys

Private keys and local configuration are stored on your device. Iris Drive encrypts private file content before sync. Content and sync records are sent only to devices you approve and to the relays, backup targets, and storage endpoints that you configure or use for Iris Drive. Sirius Business Oy cannot read encrypted file content without your keys.

A network service that you choose can receive technical connection data, such as an IP address and the public identifiers required to route a request. Independently operated relays, peers, backup targets, websites, and storage endpoints have their own privacy practices.

Optional Device Access

• Camera access is used only when you scan an Iris Drive QR code.
• Local network access is used to find and connect to nearby devices.
• Calendar access is used only if you enable Apple Calendar sync.

Iris Drive does not access these features until you choose the related action and grant the system permission.

Analytics and Tracking

The app does not include advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, crash-reporting SDKs, or cross-app tracking. The landing site does not use advertising or cross-site tracking.

Retention and Your Choices

You choose which devices to approve, which relays and backup targets to use, and what to sync or share. Data remains on your devices and configured destinations until you remove it or until the destination's retention rules remove it.

Delete local data: use Log out or Reset local state in Settings, or uninstall Iris Drive. You can also remove a linked device from the Devices screen and delete shared folders or files. Iris Drive creates a local cryptographic profile rather than a server account, so there is no separate developer-hosted account to delete.
